Mythology has always been a way for humankind to make sense of the unexplainable. As a species, we’ve found both comfort and creativity in these stories, drawing on them to make meaning from mystery. For much of my life, my work has been about humanizing and normalizing the disabled body. Only recently have I embraced the term “disabled” for myself, coming to terms with the layers of internalized ableism I hadn’t even recognized before. This art marks a new chapter—a fresh branch of my life and perspectives—where mythology and identity intertwine, allowing me to reframe both my own story and the broader narrative of disability.
